Jubilee Jamboree

The museum celebrated the Queen's Diamond Jubilee a week early in glorious sunshine.

Over 250 visitors joined us for the Little Gallery Tearoom's royal-themed refreshments, plus performances from Karen Kennedy as 'Queenie Windsor', Minnie Birch, and the Watford Dial Up. Volunteers from Pumpkin Crafts, the Little Gallery Tearoom and Friends of Watford Museum decorated the museum inside and out and provided bunting-making and crown-creating workshops. The Fire Museum brought along a vintage engine and there was a museum display, Jubilee-themed wares by local craftspeople and a beautiful mural created by children at the Multicultural Community Centre.

The fire engine photo was taken by Greg McCormick
